Araceli Solis
Executive Director
With over 25 years in K–12 education and nonprofit leadership, I bring deep commitment to literacy, education, and community. As a faith-based, visionary leader, I value transparency, collaboration, authenticity, and teamwork, and I lead with faith, love, excellence, care, honor, and integrity. I’m grateful to apply my experience and entrepreneurial skills to support First Teacher/Primer Maestro, Reading Buddies, and future programs, expanding access to books, literacy support, and joyful learning for children and families.
Cristal Lozano
First teacher/Primer Maestro™ Lead Facilitator & Recruiter
I have a Bachelor’s in Social Work and over 10 years in education. I support children and families by advocating for those in need and advising parents. I’ve worked as a Family Support Specialist, Behavioral Specialist, Development Specialist, and Facilitator. These roles deepened my commitment to helping my community. I aim to raise awareness of our program, boost parent participation, and partner with more school districts. I’m committed to making a positive, lasting impact.
Karina Gomez
Donor Operations & Finance Coordinator
I joined the Children’s Reading Alliance on August 18, 2022. In October 2025 I became Program Coordinator and Finance, supporting programs and finances.
Spanish is my first language. Growing up in a resource-poor border town, I struggled to learn reading and writing in English. Raised by my grandmother and hardworking mother, I learned resilience and a commitment to service.
Literacy matters to me because I know the barriers families face. I work to help parents advocate for their children, build strong early bonds, and feel confident preparing kids for school. My family motivates me, and I hope to inspire change through kindness, dedication, and service.
